Akdolit® Hydro-Calcit C G
Easy-to-use ultra-porous low-bulk calcium carbonate neutralisation
Akdolit® Hydro-Calcit C G is a highly reactive, carbonate filter material with a spherical granular form, especially suitable for pneumatic conveying and silo feeding. It is used for the neutralisation of water to achieve the calco-carbonic equilibrium through pH adjustment and thus to meet the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance. In this process, an increase in the concentration of the calcium and hydrogen carbonate ions, desirable from a chemical corrosion point of view, is achieved. Due to the high reactivity of Akdolit® Hydro-Calcit C G, the performance of units previously filled with dense carbonate can be increased without any expansion. Stabilisation and equilibrium of the pH are obtained very easily.
Akdolit® Hydro-Calcit C G meets the requirements of EN 1018, the Drinking Water Ordinance and DIN 2000 (Germany).
Grain size 1: 0.5 - 3.15 mm
Akdolit® CM G (Gran)
Granulated dolomitic material for fast neutralisation
Akdolit® CM G (Gran) is a highly reactive filter material with a spherical granular form, especially suitable for pneumatic conveying and silo feeding. It is used for the neutralisation of water (by filtering) in order to achieve the calco-carbonic equilibrium and to meet the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance. Through this calco-carbonic equilibrium process, an increase in the concentration of the calcium, magnesium and hydrogen carbonate ions is achieved, which is favourable to prevent corrosion.
Akdolit® CM G (Gran) meets the requirements of the standards EN 1018 type 1, EN 16004, drinking water regulation and DIN 2000 (Germany).
Grain size 0: 0.5 - 1.6 mm
Grain size 1: 0.5 - 2.5 mm
Grain size 2: 2.0 - 4.5 mm
Grain size 3: 4.0 - 10.0 mm
Akdolit® Magno-Dol CM
Fast neutralisation with crushed dolomitic material
Akdolit® Magno-Dol CM is a highly reactive half-burnt dolomitic filter material with a splintered granular form. It is used for the neutralisation of potentially corrosive water to meet the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance. In this process, a corrosion-preventing and physiologically favourable increase in the concentration of the calcium, magnesium and hydrogen carbonate ions is achieved, which is favourable to prevent corrosion.
Akdolit® Magno-Dol CM meets the requirements of EN 1017, the Drinking Water Ordinance and DIN 2000 (Germany).
Grain size 1: 0.5 - 2.5 mm
Grain size 2: 2.0 - 4.5 mm
Akdolit® C
Natural calcium carbonate neutralisation
Akdolit® C (Hydro-Carbonate) is a natural pure limestone. It is used for the neutralisation of soft or aggressive water by filtration in order to meet the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance. In this process, an increase of the concentration of the calcium and hydrogen carbonate ions is achieved, which is favourable to prevent corrosion.
Akdolit® C meets the requirements of EN 1018, the Drinking Water Ordinance and DIN 2000 (Germany).
Grain size 0000: 0.7 - 1.4 mm
Grain size 000: 1.0 - 2.0 mm
Grain size 00: 1.6 - 2.5 mm
Akdolit® Hydrolit CA
Calcium carbonate of marine origin for neutralisation
Akdolit® Hydrolit Ca is a marine carbonate filter material with a rounded granular form and a porous structure. It is used for the neutralisation of water by filtration in order to meet the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance. In this process, an increase in the concentration of calcium and hydrogen carbonate ions is achieved, which is favourable to prevent corrosion.
Grain size 1: 1.0 – 3.0 mm
Akdolit® Q
High-quality quicklime
Akdolit® Q (quicklime, CaO) is a solid reagent made by the calcination of limestone in a kiln at a temperature of 900°C or higher. Akdolit® Q has to be slaked and diluted to a milk of lime or limewater before use. Akdolit® supplies high-quality quicklime, particularly suitable for the preparation of milk of lime.
In water treatment, slaked and diluted quicklime are used primarily for correctiong water hardness by decarbonisation of the water through an increase in its pH value. Quicklime can lower the concentration of heavy metal compounds in the water by raising the pH value. The pH can also be regulated with slaked lime in highly diluted form.
The Akdolit® Q reagents that we offer meet the requirements of the DIN EN 12518 standards for the treatment of water for human consumption and those of the Drinking Water Ordinance.

Akdolit® H
Premium-quality hydrated lime
Akdolit® H (hydrated lime, Ca(OH)2) is a light reagent in powder form resulting from the hydration of quicklime. Akdolit® H is diluted into a homogeneous milk of lime for specific application. Akdolit® offers a powdered hydrated lime of high quality, specially adapted to the milk of lime preparation.
In water treatment, hydrated lime is used to neutralise water acidity, by increasing the pH. It can also correct water hardness, by bringing it to the calco-carbonic equilibrium (softening or hardening). Hydrated lime can also reduce the metal concentration in water by raising the pH.
The Akdolit® H reagents that we offer meet the requirements of the DIN EN 12518 standards for the treatment of water for human consumption and those of the Drinking Water Ordinance.

Akdolit® SL
Ready-to-use milk of lime
Akdolit® SL (milk of lime) is a non-dispersive suspension produced as a special preparation of hydrated lime (Ca(OH)2) in water. The preparation of a pure, homogeneous, non dispersible milk of lime on the site, where it is to be used, is a difficult process that requires specific equipment and know-how. This is why Akdolit® offers a range of ready-to-use milk of lime to its customers.
In water treatment, milk of lime is used to establish calco-carbonic equilibrium and correct hardness (softening or hardening). Milk of lime can also reduce the concentration of heavy metal compounds in water by raising the pH.
Lhoist's range of Akdolit® SL reagents meet the requirements of the DIN EN 12518 standards and the Drinking Water Ordinance.
